WE ARE HAPPY TO TAKE ANY
GUESTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS PROVIDING OUR ACCOMMODATION IS SUITABLE.
PLEASE INFORM US BEFORE
BOOKING OF ANY DISABILITY OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS TO MAKE SURE WE ARE ABLE TO
CATER FOR YOUR NEEDS.
All our bedrooms are on the
first floor, which has a small lounge area. Our main guest lounge and dining
room are on the ground floor.
Whilst it would not be practical, financially or physically, to
provide
wheelchair access or provision for wheelchair visitors, there are some things we
can provide for the less able, partially sighted or deaf people.
We have web site links to most
major local attractions for you to check suitability for your visit.
FOR THE LESS ABLE.
- We have a parking space close to the front entrance which
we would reserve for any guest with a disability and we always offer help with luggage.
- Our entrance hallway and stairs are well
lit
- There is a good strong handrail on the stairs.
- For all guests with any disability we would suggest our first room at the
top of the stairs, this would make for an easy exit should an emergency arise.
- We have excellent quality firm beds so people with back problems
can be
sure of a good nights sleep, and non allergic bedding is available. Extra pillows available.
- There are good comfortable armchairs in the rooms so that people
can relax
and need not go up and down stairs to the lounge or dining room. Breakfast may also be served
in the room room overlooking the garden for guests who have problems negotiating
the stairs.
- The dining room/guest lounge overlooks the rear garden with only
one small
step out on to the sun patio where seating is provided. Our cottage gardens are
all on one level with comfortable sun loungers available.
Both our local village eating
places have no steps or stairs at the entrance.
EXTRAS PROVIDED FOR THE PARTIALLY SIGHTED
Before people visit us they can access our website in large print and find
out what extra help and facilities we are able to offer, and what local
attractions will meet their needs.
- We provide various lamps in our rooms with the addition of extra
lighting
over the bed.
- All our rooms have larger screen TV &
Video. We have a video on the Cotswold villages so audio information is
available.
- Our dark doors and frames provide a contrast against the light colour walls to make doorways easily visible. We have provided
good lighting in our
bathrooms and have no rugs or mats people may not see. Good space and no
clutter.
- Written instructions in large print for use of shower and whirlpool
bath. Non-slip mat for bath or shower.
- Our menu is available in large print and breakfast may
be served in the room if guests wish to save
negotiating the stairs.
- We provide a torch for walking in the village at night.
FOR THE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING.
- We have large screen TVs with tele-text which provides subtitles on "text
888"
- Torches are provided for all our guests when
walking in the village at night, as we have no street lights, it is therefore an advantage if
people with a hearing impairment can be seen by motorists.
- We will happily telephone and reserve a table for
dinner (as with all our guests ) at any of our local
places to eat. Any other help with making reservations for other
visitor attractions, taxies etc. will be all part of our service.
